The Backdrop of this meeting is the immigration debate, which is going on in Capitol Hill currently. Congressman Don Bacon has been supportive of the HR392 bill and he extended his support to the resolution where HR392 needs to be included in the DACA Bill. HR 392 bill aims at removing the per-country cap on Green cards and improving the immigration process of the impacted countries. We are also going to discuss about USCIS intent to rescind the bill that provided right to employment for certain H4 spouses.
Please join us with your family and friends in large number so that we can show our support to Congressman in his fight for reforming the High Skilled immigration.
Thank You,
IAN President
India Association of Nebraska along with community individuals had approached Congressman Don Bacon to support the HRS 392 bill which will lift the country quota for H1B and Green cards.
We met with Congressman’s officials and explained the situation. Ian had asked community members to send their real-life stories and sent them to the Congressman. He did sign the letter to support the bill.
IAN organized the Hindu temple tour and Q & A session with the Congressman and the event was well attended by 165 people. We arranged for homemade snacks and sweets for him to enjoy. We collected the questions from the community members which was answered by the Congressman during the event.

Outcome:
Congressman Bacon had the opportunity to convey the concerns from Q&A session to all 240 Republican members of Congress and Speaker Ryan. The concerns were very well received and we are optimistic that they will consider some solutions in the near future.
